The name ‘Ocean Ridge’ had been selected from submissions for a town naming contest, with a prize of $100 going to the individual providing the winning name. Shortly thereafter, the Town of Boynton changed its name to Boynton Beach. To this day Ocean Ridge remains secluded, a community that seems to value its solitude. With less than 2,000 year-round residents and about 1,000 more seasonal residents, Ocean Ridge is a small low-density and low-profile community with a strong tradition of the protection and beautification of the nature habitat.

Palm Beach is just a short drive north and offers several luxury shopping and fine dining options as well.
