Food Hall Proposed for Downtown Delray Beach

May 24, 2018

Just when you thought Delray Beach couldn’t possibly get any hipper, a proposed food hall appears on the radar. Delray City Market, 30,000 square foot food hall be located at 33 SE 3rd Avenue just one-half block south of Atlantic Avenue.

According to the Palm Beach Post, restaurant giant, Dennis Max and real estate developer Craig Menin are planning the project. The food hall would be part of a larger four-story property with a parking garage and rooftop community garden.

The food hall would feature 30 vendors with a range of choices, live music, cooking classes and guest chefs. According to the article, ‘œMax said it’s not enough to fill the space with vendors. The space needs to be visually appealing. Max said Menin is committed to doing it right’¦the best of the best, not just a builder looking to make money.’

If approved by the city, Delray City Center could be built and ready to open by the summer of 2019 according to Max. See full article

Delray Beach Is One of Best Small Towns to Visit in America

October 12, 2017

Delray Beach has yet once again received accolades! This time for being named one of the ‘œBest Small Towns to Visit in America’. The Palm Beach Post featured Delray Beach’s big news declaring that ‘œour county is among some very cool places in the country’. Thrillist, who created the list, describes Delray Beach as, ‘œNot just for grandparents anymore. In the past decade, Delray has begun to use the word ‘˜hip’ to precede something other than ‘˜replacement’. Atlantic Avenue has gone from daytime retiree corridor to the top nightlife destination in the country.’ See PalmBeachPost.com article

Thrillist created the list of cities that are ‘œunderappreciated gems’ with a maximum population of 70,000. They asked dozens of writers across the United States to find small cities where they could see themselves living. Cities with lots to do when you want and nothing to do when you unplug ‘“ a place to ‘œscratch out a cool life’. Thrillist published the list in August and provided a brief description of why each location made the cut. In addition to Delray Beach, Florida other featured cities include:
Hood River, Oregan
Brisbee, Arizona
Port Chester, New York
Greenville, South Carolina
Golden, Colorado
Eau Claire, Wisconsin
Portland, Maine
San Marcos, Texas
Burlington, Iowa
Joshua Tree, California
Northampton, Massachusetts
Bozeman, Montana
